The Right Mountain Bike Dealer Can Lead to a Great Bike-buying Experience

Mountain bike dealers are great places to find information and resources on mountain biking. Usually, the people that work as mountain bike dealers are mountain bikers themselves and are happy to offer you suggestions and tips on biking - including the locations of great local trails and courses. If you are just getting into mountain biking, then visiting mountain bike dealers is a great first step for getting help with your riding and choosing a great starter bike.
Another great thing about mountain bike dealers is that they usually stand behind the products they sell, which means if you have any problems with your bike you can bring it back for help and repair. When selecting mountain bike dealers and I personally prefer smaller local shops over bigger sports stores, which tend to be impersonal. Larger stores may have a wider selection of bikes, but they usually don't have staff competent enough to help you choose a bike or answer questions you might have. The primary goal of superstores is usually to sell products and make a profit, so unless you know exactly what you want and find it at a good price, try smaller local mountain bike dealers first.
One thing to look for when considering mountain bike dealers, however, is whether or not they are certified for the products they sell. If they do not have certification, then you might not get a full warranty on products you purchase from them. You will also want to ask around to make sure that they are a reputable and reliable shop. You wouldn't want the shop to close down or go out of business only weeks after you purchase your bike.
After you've found mountain bike dealers you like, take your time selecting a bike. Ask a lot of questions, and be sure to tell the staff exactly how you plan to use your bike. They will be able to help you choose the right bike for your needs. By taking your time, you can be sure that you won't feel pressured into buying a bike before you're sure it's the exact one you want and from one of the mountain bike dealers you feel comfortable with.
It might take you a little time and effort to find great mountain bike dealers, but once you do, you won't regret it.
